Drunk on Geomorphology - The Logo

 My next logo is:

Drunk on Geomorphology

Geomorphology is the study of the physical features of the Earth, such as mountains and rivers, and their relation to geology and geological processes. That's why I wanted to show a mountain range with some glacial U-shaped valleys and a river system coming out them. The river system starts as a meandering river and quickly evolves into a meandering river. Within the meandering river valley we have a wine bottle pouring into a wine glass, a rock hammer, and a half full liquor bottle. At the end of the river is a delta in the shape of a lime, pouring into a lake.

Drunk on Glaciology - The Logo

 My next logo is:

Drunk on Glaciology

Glaciology is the study of glaciers and landforms produced by those glaciers. So for this one I wanted to show the side view of a glacier, cracked as it moves along. This glacier is in a hanging valley, which is a smaller valley that comes out into a much larger "U-shaped" glacial valley, except here the larger glacial valley is filled with a lake. Our bottle-shaped glacier is currently melting, producing the waterfall that is characteristic of a hanging valley, falling into the glacial U-shaped valley. To top it off our glacial lake contains iceberg ice cubes and some dropstones.

Drunk on Meteorology - The Logo

The next logo, and the last new one for a little bit, is:

 Drunk on Meteorology

To go with the drinking theme, we have a hurricane glass as our focal point and a tornado coming down from the hurricane thunderhead clouds into the glass. We also have some rock hammery lightning from the clouds.

Drunk on Chemistry - The Logo

For my next logo, I worked long and hard trying to come up with a Drunk on Chemistry logo that will work well and I think what I did came out well.

It combines a lot of "typically" chemistry lab apparatus with some some other things that I like to mix into the logos. The wine glass this time is made up of an ethanol molecule. The two lower beakers and the wine bottle have molecules from wine that I got from compoundchem.com.

The lower beakers contain flavan-3-ols, a compound from the grape seeds, and anthocyanins, a compound from grape skins. The wine bottle contains tannins and flavonols. And of course, my tube is in the shape of a rock hammer, because even though it is chemistry, it's still Drunk on Geology (or drunk on geochemistry if you will).

Drunk on Geology - the Logo

I needed just a regular Drunk on Geology category logo for some beers and wines that cross categories so I came up with a new logo for the overall Drunk on Geology series:

Drunk on Geology

Trying to keep this one fairly simple with a mug of beer on the rocks and a rock hammer umbrella. Also I liked the idea of the drips of beer turning into diamonds as they fall.

Drunk on Mineralogy - The Logo

The next Drunk on Geology category I am ready to announce is:

Drunk on Mineralogy

Mineralogy is the study of minerals and I thought what better use of minerals in drinks than the salt on the rim of a margarita glass. And any geologist could tell you that salt is a mineral, the mineral halite. When halite is examined up close, you can see that the pieces always break off in cubic chunks, called cubic cleavage. And if you were able to look even closer, the mineral structure would also be cubic with alternating sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl) atoms.

Drunk on Petrology - The Logo

The next Drunk on Geology category I am ready to announce is:

Drunk on Petrology

Petrology is the study of rocks, and so with this Petrology logo I wanted to highlight a ternary, rock identification diagram such as the one below for different sedimentary rocks, but using beer, wine, and liquor as the three endpoints.

Drunk on Astronomy - The Logo

The next Drunk on Geology category I am ready to announce is:

Drunk on Astronomy

This logo follows the new design that I made for all of the Drunk on Geology logos. With this Astronomy logo I wanted to highlight the constellations of what could have been, had geologists picked them out.

Drunk on Seismology - The Logo

The next Drunk on Geology category I am ready to announce is:

Drunk on Seismology

Check out the logo below:

Here we have some seismogram lines, displaying a wine bottle and wine glass in the background.

Drunk on Volcanology - The Logo

The next Drunk on Geology category I am ready to announce is:

Drunk on Volcanology

Check out the logo below.

I decided to go with a decanter for the "volcano" with a Plinian style eruption coming out of it. I hope you like it.

Drunk on Paleontology - The Logo

Here at Drunk on Geology, we have identified several different categories that each of the amazing geologically related drinks can fit into. As we highlight different drinks we are going to promote the labels that we have created to go along with those drinks as well. Below is the Drunk on Paleontology logo:
